Tasteful Lesbian Photography?
In my quest for tasteful and artfully done photography/ paintings featuring women, I have become very frustrated. It's difficut to cut through and avoid the pornography.

I am a huge fan of talents such as Judy Francesconi and Tanya Chalkin. Can anyone suggest other artists such as these in the fields of photography and painting?

Thank you....
well, i would suggest giving DeviantART a go, it's not a bad place to find photography on any topic really :D

Still have to dig through some crap, but everyone's got their own opinions on what's tasteful and whats not.
Where can I find tasteful lesbian art or photography online?
I'm looking for a picture of two women that I can set as a background on my home computer, but the web seems overrun with pornography, and that is NOT what I'm looking for. So for those of you who can tell the difference, please link me to some tasteful art.
Thanks,
Jo
go to www.allposters.com
they have a section called women...ranging from the romatic period of naked godesses, to the very popular "Kiss" photograph.

I love their stuff! You might even decide to order some of them :) Good Luck!

Which cities in north carolina have a high gay or gay accepting area?
My fiancee and I are a lesbian couple and we plan on moving to North Carolina an soon have a guy. We are a black couple and she has a wonderful photography business and I plan on starting a daycare with GREAT potential. Which area/city (if any) would be a good area to live at that's accepting and would be a great place to start a business?
May I suggest Asheville? I live here now, and we like to call it a progressive oasis in the middle of the South. I just moved here from near Boulder, CO, and it's every bit as accepting of the gay lifestyle as it was out west.
Can she be a lesbian?
I have a friend, attends a preforming arts school, raised pretty religiously. She's hot as hell, I'll be honest, and that's coming from a gay guy. Yesterday we were talking and she said this:

her: yup. i might join you in the gay lifestyle because boys are terrible creations.
her: (no offense)
me: You like a girl? XP
her: no, actually that's a lie- the whole lesbian thing.

And then today she left a photo comment on some of my photography. The picture was of an equally attractive girl I know, and she said this:

"these photographs are all stellar fantastic.
and she's really hot."

I don't know, she's hinting at it, but what do you think? Should I try to bring the topic to the table again?
yeah i think that you should bring it up again but i guess dont be pushy cause maybe its a sensitive topic for her and shes uncomfortable talking about it and unsure of her sexuality or something but you should definitely bring it up again...hope this helps :)
Would a lesbian model have problems with a male photographer?
Okay so please don't call em a bigot, im not , and im asking this question out of serious interest. there's a story to this.
My friend is a photographer who lets just say kinda likes certain kinds of photography(naked women) and its not like its porn, hes actually really good at finding ways to really express the human body and his shots are amazing. but one time he was showing me one of his pictures, it was of two girls who he claims were lesbian. First thought in my mind was "bullshit"
But then i thought about it. When guys are doing porn films, which i don't really watch but am guessing this, they are naked and sometimes it might be in front of a guy cameraman and director. So i figured that if attraction had nothing to do with it,if it were truly just being Professional and was all business, would a lesbian girl be able to take that kind of photos with a male photographer? Or would it just be a taboo?
(please don't flame me, im seriously curious about this)
Most models are lesbians so I don't think so. You think I'm joking? I'm not.
Why is it ok for a lesbian to cut and tear out a man's penis, testicles and scrotum in a Hollywood Film?
I mean could you imagine if a straight man were to tear out a lesbian's clitoris with a pair of plyers in a Hollywood film? The outrage from the media would end the career of the director, director of photography, the producers, etc of that film. Is anyone else incredibly sick of the grotesque acts of violence against men the media shows against men as cool, sexy, funny, etc?
SPOILER SPACE about movie

BTW, the movie in question is Hostel II where lesbian Heather Matarazzo cuts with sheers and then tears out a man's penis, testicles, and scrotum with her bare hands.
I've seen that film, although i didn't know the female character was actually a lesbian? I don't recall her being a lesbian. Also the reason his penis and testicles were removed is because he was a rapist evil torturing b@stard who totally deserved to have his bits cut off. Let this be a lesson to you, if you use your penis as a weapon, someone may disarm you.

Forgot about film and media for a moment, there are certain cultures and religions which actually remove the womans clitoris as it is believed a woman should not enjoy sex, but you don't see any cultures or religions believing it' ok to remove a mans penis. To be honest women are far more abused in real life and media then men are so stop complaining.

Edit: Also you are WRONG it was not Heather Matarazzo who cut off the offending penis it was in fact Lauren German who is NOT a lesbian, i repeat NOT a lesbian and the character she was playing was not a lesbian either. You fail, that scene had nothing to do with anyone being a lesbian.

Edit: You have already given incorrect info about the film, saying a lesbian removed the mans genitals, when in fact it was a heterosexual woman because he tried to rape and torture her. Actually most mutilations are not hoodectomy as you said, they are in fact clitorectomies where the clitoris is removed completely, this is done to prevent women enjoying sex at all, because it is believed only a man should enjoy sex. This procedure is more common then you would think throughout the world and most commonly preformed in Africa and Asia. circumcision is not at all to the same degree and it does not stop a man from functioning and enjoying sex, although i personally don't see the point in it.

You seem to have some anti lesbian/anti female agenda going on. It makes me laugh because in the above mentioned film, you primarily see women stripped naked, beaten, raped, hung upside down and split open with a knife. In fact there are so many films which show blatant acts of horrific violence against women done by males, but yet you are complaining about a 10 second scene showing removal of a male organ?

Women are beaten and raped every single day. A woman can't even go for a walk in the park or go jogging without fearing she may be attacked/raped. In fact in the local park where i live a woman was recently raped and beaten then left for dead, fortunately she barely just survived the attack.

The attacks you speak of are pretty rare in nature and to be honest it's just not something that commonly effects males in general. Women on the other hand have to constantly find ways of protecting themselves, where violence is a real reality .
When it comes down to it, you just sound silly getting all upset about a scene in a film complaining about acts of violence against males bla, bla, bla when women are constantly being shown in films/media getting tortured, raped and humiliated by men.
Ideas for Diane Arbus style photography?
I have a photography assignment to take some photos in the style of Diane Arbus. She boldly photographed "freaks", lesbians, transvestites, cripples, etc during her career. Does anyone have any modern-day ideas of what/who I should photograph for this assignment?
Much of her work was done with a 6x6cm Rolleiflex. Check into TLRs. Great for candid portraiture. She committed suicide long before digital was invented. Using B&W film wouldn't hurt to get some of her look.

Your assignment is specifically to emulate the style of Diane Arbus. Then do it. Look at her work and find the same kind of people around you.

Some modern ideas might be fast food workers, the public pit at a racetrack, Gay Pride marches, people dressed up for NFL games, Special Olympic events, Burning Man event or anywhere else where the pedestrian and normal is left behind.

A word of caution, if you truly pursue Ms. Arbus' "bold" style you will encounter people who will not like their picture being taken. You need to learn how to handle that situation safely and diplomatically.
I'm lesbian, and I like this straight girl.?
It's not the first time I've crushed on a straight girl or anything, but this girl...jesus I don't even know. She's the reason I look forward to even going to school. I just met her this year, and I hate to say I'm freaking madly in love with her, but I can't not say it. I want to tell her so bad. She flirts with me, and gives me looks. She laughs when I'm not funny. She plays around and pokes fun at me in the cutest way. We're in a photography class together and she always mixes up our film and makes me play a game where I have to guess who's is who's. She has a boyfriend. But, I want to swear so bad she likes me. Any advice on this?
I think you might be twisting the situation into what you want it to be. She probably considers all of that innocent fun. If she has a boyfriend, even if she is bi, she's off the market. I don't think you should tell her.
